Willem Steegmans,

born March 24, 1973 in Wilrijk, Antwerp, moved to Diepenbeek with his parents at the age of 5. His early school years were spent studying Latin and modern languages. He later followed his passion for drama at the Brussels Conservatory. After working at the Royal Flemish Theatre for two years, he obtained a degree in real estate.

 

During this time, he wrote a play that was performed across Flanders. After many years in real estate, he found his passion for art. Through colors and layers on canvas, he discovered his artistic passion for art, he began painting jeans jackets, expressing his creativity in fashion.

“Wire the Jacket"

began as an original idea by Willem to promote his abstract paintings. What initially served as a means of showcasing his art quickly grew into a new brand that brought together innovative art and fashion.

 

What originally started as a modest gadget transformed into a true art form: each jacket is unique, a true work of art in itself. Willem invents and designs each jacket from the very first concept, making each piece a unique creation in the world of fashion and art.
